How A 20-Year-Old Became Appleton’s Pizza King

Our Story

Over the Years

In 1976, Dean Sosnoski opened his first Pizza King – originally named Deli-King. He was only 20-years-old.

As people in the Fox Valley fell in love with his thin-crust pizza, he changed his name to Pizza King, only selling Take & Bake pizzas.

Dean fell in love with Paula (Paula’s Perfect). They married in 1979.

An Appleton Papers employee asked us to open for lunch and offering sandwiches. Soon we had over 20 different sub sandwiches.

As Dean’s family grew, so did his business. In 1987, Dean opened his second location at Calumet St

“I enjoy building relationships with my customers. I know so many of them!” – DS

Reading Pizza King’s online reviews, it’s obvious why Dean and Paula’s son, Adam, opened a fourth location in 2009 in Greenville.
